Open Source, Open Learning: Unlocking Innovation for Social Impact

Innovation is often associated with sources of special research groups, major budgets and official laboratories to large corporations. However, real progress has never been limited to institutions. Throughout history, the innovation came from people who know, their opinions share each other’s concepts and set up each other’s concepts.

Today, digital technology makes more information more accessible than ever. We can immediately search, download and share the information. However, the learning is a process – it is humble to understand that the court and mistakes are proceeded by the opposite. The thing that separates books and enterprises separately from each other is not just to learn the information, not obvious.

Why is the openness important

Open source technology showed us the power of collective efforts, communities often build and develop tools along with the global impact. But open learning is only critical. It is an experience of treating knowledge as something to be shared more and is to accept the mistakes are as valuable as success.

This openness is more than a process – this is a philosophy. It often requires us to go away from the competitive culture that determines the business and is always directed to human-centered principles that continue our societies: shared experience, shared assessment and respect.

Sharing inheritance

Among the cultures, the act of gaining knowledge was the basis of progress. Oral traditions, discipleship and story, ensured that the wisdom traveled between generations. These experiments were not about intellectual property, they were about living, growth and mutual responsibility.

In one place on the road, we lost the view of this in the construction of a modern business. Deleting knowledge, was treated as protected or competitive advantage. Again, today we face the problems we have restored climate change, inequality, finance, and the spirit of openness. Any company are larger than sector or government.

When you return to knowledge sharing as human experience, we unlock more efficiency; We are opening trust in insulation, creativity and solutions.

A philosophy for the action of work

It is not about actualism, not only about efficiency and responsibility, not only about efficiency for enterprises who are committed to social impact. By sharing concepts, failures and learned classes, enterprises become part of a wider ecosystem of the problem.

Open learning allows organizations to benefit from various perspectives and contribute to something larger than themselves. It builds bridges along the cultures and industries, is not individual, but the progress is a team.

What about? The facilities covering the open learning are using passive beneficiaries to active managers from global knowledge. Thus, the solutions we develop are not only a corporate strategy, but also in need.

A call to redeem the openness

Knowledge can already digitally, but wisdom is still, how we listen to people, how we listen, and how we listen to each other’s experience and how. If we really want innovation to the scale of global problems, we should see an open open, but as a philosophy of the manager.

The invitation is simple: Share what you know, learn the contributions of others and respect the process of building together. With this, we do not accelerate the updates – we create strength, creativity and opportunities for us.
